Position title: Program Coordinator / Outreach Coordinator

This full time (40 hours / week) position is based in Schenectady, and works to plan, implement, coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the SRC’s Experiential Learning Afterschool Programs in the Schenectady City School District. The program Coordinator works under the supervision of the Afterschool Programs Director (CC), with SRC program staff / educators, and Schenectady School District building administrators and teachers to integrate the SRC afterschool program activities with on-going operations of the regular school programs. The Program coordinator is responsible to engage, recruit, and enroll students/families to participate in the SRC Schenectady Afterschool Program, and provide referral and contact information to families, about other SRC programs they may want to participate in.

Specific Duties include:

Ensure that accurate records of daily attendance in the afterschool program are maintained for each program site.

Ensure that records are maintained on each enrolled youth, and that all required parental releases and approvals for youth to participate the program are maintained.

Ensure that the program provides all students a safe, enjoyable, interesting and intellectually rewarding experience.

Foster and maintain open communication between SRC school program staff, school faculty and administration, parents and students.
Minimum qualifications to apply:

An associated degree in child / adolescent development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field, and two years direct experience working with children / youth; including one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related work. Or
-
A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential and two years of direct experience working with children / youth in K – 12 grades, including one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related work.

Candidates with a 4 year degree or higher, with experience in teaching, guidance counseling, program administration, or social work are preferred.

Salary commensurate with experience.

All employees must agree to be fingerprinted and a complete criminal background check, clearance through the NYS Central Registry, and participate in all required training.
