How Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved with and support the Schoharie River Center. Become a member - you can join as a Schoharie River Center member or as an EST member (if you are 13-18 years of age). Volunteer, make a monetary donation or donate your old vehicle. These are all great ways to contribute, and you’ll feel great doing it!
Remember, we are a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization and all monetary donations as well as vehicle donations are tax deductible.
Becoming a member of the Schoharie River Center, or renewing your membership is a great way to show us your support. Membership has its benefits too - as a member you will be eligible to register for various events and programs for free or at a discounted rate. We have different membership levels. Follow this link for more information.
If you would like to donate some of your time and talent, we have many volunteer opportunities, from taking part in the EST program (with your child), to buildings & grounds, Schoharie River Day, to Cultural Arts programs and fund raising. Whatever interests you, we are interested in hearing from you.
Ready to trade in your vehicle? Have a junker in the yard (or know a neighbor who does)? You can make a tax deductible vehicle donation to the Schoharie River Center. We receive the proceeds from the sale of your vehicle (we don’t actually take ownership). You can also donate snowmobiles, motorcycles, boats, RV’s, and jet skis. It costs you nothing do make the donation. Your vehicle doesn’t have to be working, either
The Environmental Study Team (EST) program is our flagship youth development program. Middle school and high school aged students can join this award winning after-school program for FREE!! Learn about the science of water quality monitoring, while having a blast outdoors, cross-country skiing, hiking, bicycling, swimming, and so much more.
