Donating to SRC
Key to the success of all our programs is community support, and one way you can show your support is by making a monetary donation. We need your financial support to run our award winning Environmental Study Team program, to operate and maintain our buildings as well as the nature preserve. Your donation will also support our ongoing folk arts and music programs. The Schoharie River Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and all monetary donations as well as vehicle donations are tax deductible.
Community support was vital in major renovations to our Science Center to make it handicap accessible as well as expanding the facility to allow us space for a science lab for the EST program.
The Schoharie River Center has always been here for the community since it was founded in 1999, with EST programs that serve the city of Schenectady, the Duanesburg area and the Gilboa-Conesville area, after-school programs for youth in three counties. We’ve opened our doors to the community with innovative programs such as Archeology Field School, Silent Movie Nights, Dry-Laid Stone Wall Building, Rag Wool Rug Making, Fly Tying, Schoharie River Day and much more. For the past two years, we’ve operated a six week long summer jobs and educational program for students from the city of Schenectady.

Donate your car

Donate your car, van, truck, RV, motorcycle, boat, jet ski or snowmobile to Schoharie River Center and receive a tax deduction. Your vehicle will be towed away at no cost to you. The vehicle will be sold and the proceeds will be donated to the Schoharie River Center. You will receive a tax deduction for the value of the vehicle.
This no cost, no hassle process begins when you contact our fundraising partner, Donation Line LLC at 877-227-7487. Make sure to ask for our extension, 2304. Or you can click here, "Donate Your Car Now", and complete the Vehicle Donation Form on line. Make sure to select Schoharie River Center from the drop down list of charitable organizations. Please have your vehicle title in hand when you donate. If you do not have a title please contact Donation Line at 1-877-227-7487 and they will determine whether they can accept your donation. Most no title vehicles are acceptable.

Within 2 business days, you will be contacted by the towing company who will pick up your Car, Boat, etc. at no cost to you. The tow company will provide you with a pickup receipt. Within 6-8 weeks the Schoharie River Center will mail you a tax deduction letter.
