The Schenectady Environmental Education Center will be located in the old "Casino" building on Iroquois Lake in Central Park. Owned by the City of Schenectady, the building will be renovated to house the new education center.

Lead agency on this project is the Schoharie River Center, in partnership with Upper Union Neighborhood Association, ECOS: The Environmental Clearinghouse, and Community Fathers, Inc.

"There's a lot to be learned from a log"

Practical forestry activity. Between tree rings, bark identification and much more, you'll realize just how much there is to learn from a log. You'll get your very own slice off a log, also known as a "tree cookie". Sorry they're not so good to eat but we'll have materials so you can sand and oil your cookie to bring out the grain and turn it into the perfect beer coaster.

This event is free to enter. Donations will be accepted to help fund the programming that SEEC will be/is offering.
