 The Canon Envirothon is an annual international competition that starts at the regional level, then proceeds to the state level before culminating in the final national and international competition. Last year, Schoharie River Center EST represented Schenectady County at the New York State Envirothon. This year, an EST team won the regional competition and will represent Schenectady County at this year's New York State Envirothon competition.

  In conjunction with the Envirothon competition there is also a national photo competition. EST members selected 10 photos to enter into this year's contest. One of those photos (Sunburst) took third place in the Current Issues category. Here are the 10 photos that EST submitted....
